Performance Food Group Gilroy CA

As part of its commitment to innovative sustainability and positively impacting the environment, Performance Food Group (PFG) is deploying solar, energy storage, electric vehicles and trailers, and related EV charging infrastructure across a series of the PFG operating locations. This Gilroy project is the first of a planned rollout across PFG’s California properties as part of a broader renewable strategy that aligns with plans for the fleet and maximizes value through a phased, portfolio-based approach.

The Gilroy site utilizes solar and onsite energy storage systems to reduce operating costs through locally generated onsite energy, paired with energy storage to reduce demand costs and enhance cost savings. The solar and energy storage project is anticipated to produce 2,354,000 kWh annually, with a carbon offset of 97.93% and a payback period of under six years. PFG has elected to purchase the system, maximizing the operational value and sustainability benefits for the property while leveraging tax benefits resulting from the Inflation Reduction Act.
